Quiz English — Privacy

Last updated: 17 September 2026

The short version: Quiz English has no accounts and no server. Your progress never leaves your device — but the free version shows ads, and that ad SDK is a third party.

What the app stores

Your level progress, stars, high scores, the words you answered correctly or incorrectly and your settings are saved on your device. We have no server and no account system, so none of it is sent anywhere or visible to us. Deleting the app deletes all of it.

Advertising

The free version shows ads served by Google AdMob: a banner, an occasional full-screen ad between levels, and an optional video you can watch to unlock the next level. AdMob may collect device information and, if you allow tracking when iOS asks, the advertising identifier (IDFA) to personalise ads. You can decline at that prompt or change your choice any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking; ads then remain non-personalised. See how Google uses data from partner apps.

The one-time Remove ads purchase turns all of this off: no ad is requested and the ad SDK is not started at all.

Game Center

If you are signed in to Game Center, your competition high score is submitted to Apple's leaderboard. This is optional, it is handled entirely by Apple under Apple's privacy policy, and nothing about it reaches us.

Pronunciation

Words are read out by the speech synthesiser built into iOS, on the device. No recording is made and no audio is sent anywhere.

What we don't collect

Purchases

The Remove ads purchase is handled by Apple through the App Store; we never see your payment details. See Apple's Privacy Policy.

Children

The app is a general-audience vocabulary quiz and we collect no information from anyone. If a child uses it, the Remove ads purchase switches off the advertising described above.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version appears on this page with an updated date.
